Michael Paterniti, longtime GQ contributor, winner of a National Magazine Award and author of two New York Times bestselling books, The Telling Room and Driving Mr. Albert, and of the essay collection Love and Other Ways of Dying.

Carmen Bugan, a Romanian-American poet, critic, and memoirist, author of the internationally acclaimed memoir Burying the Typewriter: Childhood Under the Eye of the Secret Police. She writes about identity, dictatorship, and exile.

John Freeman, American writer and literary critic, founder of the literary biannual Freeman’s and author of How to Read a Novelist. From 2009 to 2013 he was the editor of Granta magazine. His work has been translated into more than twenty languages.

Alexander Nanau, Emmy Award winning producer and director, whose works include internationally acclaimed documentary films The World according to Ion B. and Toto and His Sisters, which documents the life of three siblings living in a Bucharest ghetto .

 

*Line-up change: Due to changes in his schedule, Pat Walters will no longer be able to join us at the conference. He and his team from Pop-Up Magazine are planning a tour and the complexity of setting up shows in different cities is getting in the way of him coming to Bucharest.
